    Light Ministry Orchestra.

    Let's light up Indonesia.

Light Ministry Orchestra (LMO) is a Jakarta youth orchestra founded in 2023 by Edmund Lucius Oey, Maddison Kurniawan and Celine Handoko, and now carried forward by a new generation of student leaders. Its creative director and conductor is Addie MS.

LMO believes every young musician deserves a stage, whatever their ability or background. Young musicians with and without special needs rehearse and perform side by side, in a space where talent is nurtured, differences are celebrated, and music brings people together.

Its concerts, from A Million Light to Rise Through Rhythm at Aula Simfonia Jakarta, have taken a repertoire from Mozart and Strauss to film music onto real stages, including the World Children's Day celebration in Jakarta.

Orchestra doesn't have a look. You just need to show up.

    Join the orchestra

LMO trains young musicians in Jakarta, roughly grades 7 to 11, through weekly rehearsals and sectionals. Membership is by audition: show what you can play, and grow from there.

    Mentored, not just conducted

Behind every performance are mentors who stay a little longer and explain one more time. Under Addie MS and the LMO mentors, the aim is to shape character as much as musicianship.

    Concerts

Each year builds towards an annual concert, with community performances along the way. Ticket links and concert news are announced on Instagram.
